Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how MyoScan IQ uses cookies and other storage technologies on your device. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as updated by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, we are required to provide clear information about these technologies.

MyoScan IQ uses browser local storage and similar technologies rather than traditional browser cookies for most functionality. The same PECR principles apply to these storage technologies.

2. Essential storage (no consent required)

These technologies are strictly necessary for the Platform to function and to provide the service you have requested. They cannot be disabled.

TechnologyPurposeDuration
Authentication token (local storage)Keeps you signed in and identifies your sessionUntil you log out
App configuration (local storage)Identifies the app, API version, and base URLUntil removed/replaced by the application or you clear browser storage
Login redirect URL (local storage)Returns you to your page after loginSession
Preference-control record (local storage)Stores your storage-preference choices so the application can honour your objectionUntil removed/replaced by the application or you clear browser storage

3. Feature and preference storage

Some storage technologies are used to remember choices or adapt MyoScan IQ to your preferences. Where these technologies meet the relevant PECR exception, prior consent is not required, but you can object at any time using the Storage preferences controls below.

TechnologyPurposePECR exceptionDuration
Simulator state (local storage)Persists your slice positioner work between sessions so you can resume where you left offAppearance/preference — adapts the service to your in-progress workUntil removed/replaced by the application or you clear browser storage
Generated series cache (local storage)Caches simulator output for immediate restoration while cloud data loads; the cloud-stored record is the primary copyAppearance/preference — restores your previously generated seriesUntil removed/replaced by the application or you clear browser storage
Weekly Question state (local storage)Stores a session token used to prevent duplicate voting and show your previous voteStrictly necessary — required for the voting feature to functionUntil removed/replaced by the application or you clear browser storage
Console UI preferences (local storage)Remembers whether you have seen the help dialog and dismissed interface cuesAppearance/preference — remembers viewing preferencesUntil removed/replaced by the application or you clear browser storage

For technologies relying on the appearance/preference exception, you can object at any time using the Storage preferences controls below. Switching a category off stops future persistence for that category and removes existing related local storage. The core feature should still work during your current session, but it may no longer persist between sessions.

4. Statistical analytics (objection mechanism provided)

Analytics on MyoScan IQ falls into two categories:

Platform analytics (automatic)

The Base44 hosting platform automatically collects aggregate statistical information about visits to the published MyoScan IQ website and app, including:

  • Total visits and unique visitors
  • Pages visited and visit duration
  • Approximate location (country-level)
  • Browser, device type, and operating system
  • Traffic source (how visitors arrived)

Base44 controls the underlying analytics technology. Where these analytics meet the requirements of the statistical-purpose exception under PECR, they may be used without prior consent. MyoScan IQ does not use this information for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Custom event analytics

TechnologyPurposeDuration
Button click trackingRecords when you click App Store, Google Play, or Open Web App buttonsPer event (not stored on your device)

This analytics is for statistical purposes only. It is not used for:

  • Advertising
  • Tracking across other websites
  • Building personal profiles
  • Sharing with third parties for marketing

Under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, analytics used solely for statistical purposes to improve the service may be exempt from the consent requirement, provided the resulting information is aggregate and not used to identify individuals. We rely on this exemption for our custom event analytics. The opt-out toggle below controls custom event analytics only; platform analytics is managed by the hosting platform.

5. Your choices

Essential storage

Essential storage (Section 2) is required for authentication and service operation. Disabling or blocking it may prevent MyoScan IQ from working properly. There is no preference toggle for essential storage — it is necessary for the service you have requested.

Feature and preference storage

Feature and preference storage (Section 3) can be managed through the Storage preferences controls below. Switching a category off stops future persistence for that category and removes existing related local storage. The core feature should still work during your current session, but it may no longer persist between sessions. The Weekly Question session token is strictly necessary for the voting feature and does not have a preference toggle.

Statistical analytics opt-out

You can object to statistical analytics at any time. Use the toggle below to opt out, or contact us at myoscaniqsupport@gmail.com.

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It applies only to this device and browser.

6. Storage preferences

These controls let you object to the appearance/preference storage technologies listed in Section 3. They do not affect essential storage or statistical analytics. Toggles default to on; switching one off stops future persistence and removes existing related local storage for that category.

Allow MyoScan IQ to remember your slice-positioner state between sessions.

Allow MyoScan IQ to restore previously generated simulator series between sessions.

Allow MyoScan IQ to remember interface preferences such as dismissed help messages and console cues.

Your choices are stored in your browser's local storage. They apply only to this device and browser. Disabling a category does not delete your server-side records.

7. Third-party services

Some third-party services may set their own cookies or storage when you interact with them:

  • Stripe — sets cookies on the Stripe checkout page. These are controlled by Stripe and governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Google — loads web fonts (Inter and JetBrains Mono) from Google's content delivery network. Where fonts are loaded from Google servers, your browser makes requests to Google and technical request information (such as your IP address) may be transmitted to Google as part of that request. MyoScan IQ does not control what Google does with that information.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — when you click a download button, you are taken to Apple's or Google's website, which may set its own cookies.

MyoScan IQ does not control these third-party cookies. See the relevant provider's privacy policy for more information.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. See your browser's help documentation for instructions.

Note that disabling all cookies and local storage may affect the Platform's ability to function, particularly authentication, the Weekly Question voting feature, and the simulator workspace.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
